LIZTON — Tri-West Hendricks hosted Danville in each team’s season opener Nov. 29 where Danvilled tallied its first win 77-69 over Tri-West.
Both teams were sectional champions in 2007-08, and both teams show promise for another successful season as their rosters stayed basically the same as last year.
Tri-West led 22-16 after the first quarter and remained down (37-31) at halftime.
Coming out of the locker room, the Warriors looked more intense than they had the entire game. They immediately stormed the floor for a comeback to take the game.
Danville was led by Purdue-signed junior Travis Carroll, who scored 22 points and 14 rebounds. Sophomore Tyler Hall tallied 18 points, followed by Michael Humphrey and Nate Rigdon with 16 and 11 points respectively.
Junior Randall Lowe tied Carroll for the game high with 22 points, and Austin Hendershot added 15 points. Also scoring double figures were Caleb McVicker with 14 points that included four 3-pointers and Sam Groth with 10 points.
