THE PAPER
LINDEN
– Coach Mike Margeson keeps seeing the North Montgomery High School
boys soccer team inch closer to a Sagamore Athletic Conference win.
This time the Chargers rallied to tie the game late, before seeing all that second-half magic go for naught.
Visiting Tri-West scored with four minutes left and defeated North Montgomery 2-1 Monday afternoon.
Junior
Jordan Galloway scored the Chargers’ lone goal off an assist from
senior Kal Airey with 15 minutes left. But Tri-West – who stayed
undefeated in the conference with the win – answered in the final five
minutes.
“It was another one of those games. It was pretty well-played,” Margeson said. “Tri-West is a great team.”
North Montgomery (4-7-1, 0-5 SAC) next plays county- and conference rival Crawfordsville at 7 p.m. Thursday at Crawfordsville.
North Montgomery’s seniors have never beaten the Athenians’ in their four-year careers.
“I
don’t think we’re going to have any trouble for that one,” Margeson
said. “Our seniors really want to go out with win against
Crawfordsville.”
